One rule to learn coding fast.

If you think learning how to code is simple and easy, you’re in for a bumpy ride!

The information age requires everything fast. We eat fast. We skim the news headlines only. We learn to code within months.

Instead of learning fast, slowing down your learning process is the key to success.

It looks like it’s counterintuitive. Boot-camps or DevCamp offers the most intensive courses in a short span of time. Recent research also recommends taking 8 weeks to master the course.

Before going to the next learning topic, you can ask yourself what you do not know about the topic before going to the next topic.

In his book, “Teach Yourself to Think, “, Edward de Bono shares how to good thinking process. When talking about “The search for information”, he mentions about 3 types of information,

  1. What you know
  2. What you know you don’t know
  3. What you don’t know you don’t know

The first one is “known knowns”. The knowledge you’ve already known.

The second one is a bit scary. There are “knowns unknowns”.
